By Land:

From Raleigh/Durham: North Carolina

Pamlico County is approximately 140 driving miles from Raleigh Durham Airport.  Drivers will follow I-40 to US70 (Exit 306 then exit 334) to New Bern.  Follow US 17 across the bridge at New Bern to Highway 55 towards Bayboro.

From I-95 North or South

Take US 70 East at Smithfield.  Pamlico County is approximately 95 driving miles from Smithfield.

From Hampton Roads, VA

Follow Highway 17 South through Chesapeake to North Carolina.  Pamlico County is approximately 130 driving miles from the Dismal Swamp Welcome Center.  Follow Highway 17 through Washington.  Turn Right onto Highway 33, go 18 miles and then follow Highway 306 to Highway 55.

By Water:

Pamlico County is located near the  confluence of the Neuse River and Pamlico Sound on the Intracoastal Waterway.  Marinas can be found on many waterways such as the Bay River, the Neuse River, on Whittaker Creek, and Smith Creek. If your choice is to anchor out, you will find several protected spots.

By Air:

Scheduled air service is provided by Craven County Regional Airport is located near New Bern. Car rentals are available at the airport, and Taxi and Limousine service to Pamlico County is also available.

By Ferry:

The North Carolina Ferry system provides free ferry service to and from Cherry Branch (near Havelock) several times daily.
